The Hardcover

Dear Reader,

Oh happy day! I received a copy of the hardcover in the mail today. It’s always so exciting and weird to see a book you wrote in the flesh (so to speak).

It always seems lighter than it should. The end product coming nowhere near the weight of sweat and tears that went into writing it.

I touched it all over. It is smooth and silky. Red is the predominant colour (as it should be). The pages are crisp, the lettering clean, it smells good.

I knew what the cover looked like of course but the colour the publisher chooses for under the dust jacket is always a surprise. So too, the lettering on the spine.

I am beyond thrilled.

Here’s the book plus jacket:

And here is the spine (along with Ashes, Ashes). Could they be more perfect??!! Authors get kind of wiggy over things like that.

Stay tuned for a giveaway as we get closer to the pub date (June 5th).
