Just found out that Ashes, Ashes has been nominated for a White Pine award, which is part of the Ontario Library Association’s Forest of Reading school program. There are separate awards for picture books up through adult novels, and last year over 250,000 students participated.
This is one of the few awards where the students vote on the winner so I am particularly thrilled. Also I’m in the company of such YA literary giants as Kelley Armstrong, Don Aker, and Moira Young among others.
You can check out all 10 nominated YA books here
