Jo Treggiari’s Mini-Writing Workshop was a great opportunity for 9-12 year olds to learn about the craft of writing from a published children’s book author. The children had a chance to hear the author read from her book, The Curious Misadventures of Feltus Ovalton, to ask questions about the book and the author, and to participate in a group writing activity creating their own heroes and villains. Jo has a natural rapport with the “tween” age group and kept her audience both interested and amused. By the end of the hour-long session, when the writers shared their heroes and villains, there was lively discussion and much laughter.
